Thank goodness pictures speak a thousand words
because all I have are pictures in this latest blog.
 Here's my NFC co-host Andy and I doing a
"spotting" appearance at a charity white collar
boxing night last month. The event was great
fun although it can be a little surreal to be
sipping on red wine while a couple people punch,
elbow, slap and bleed on "stage".  All in the
name of charity though...so guess that makes
it more acceptable.

Then we flew up to Brunei with our other presenter colleague Paula for an appearance for DST Group in Brunei just last weekend.  Brunei's such a lovely and peaceful country...very spacious and green. Oh look, what a beautiful Brunei sunset!

Apart from the scenery,  I got to meet many wonderful people!

I love my job! ;)

Vince Neil.  (Vince was real nice and down-to-earth!
He and his band were here in Singapore for a
concert) Rock on peeps!

"We were written in the stars, my love, all that
separated us, was time, the time it took to read the
map which was placed within our hearts, to find our
way back to one another"

A girl friend of mine has finally settled down
after 40 over years of celebrated singlehood. The
man who stole her heart? A caring, kind and
handsome Greek shipping magnate.

Another girl friend of mine also found true love recently.
Her then-boyfriend got down on one knee and
proposed to her by buying a 10-minute fireworks display
which lit up the skies while they were having a cozy dinner
at Ku De Ta in romantic Bali.

These two girl friends of mine walked down the aisle this past weekend, the former on Sat and the latter on Sunday.

Dreams do come true after all.

The inaugural Singapore Grand Prix took place over
the weekend. Media all over the
world lauded the event as a roaring success and I
couldn't be more proud.  Here's an example of
massive media coverage courtesy of my new
friend, Yves, who lives in Lyon, France.

Anyway, I had such a blast the past few days checking out the qualifiers and then the race itself yesterday.  The loud purr of the engines, the smell of burnt rubber on the asphalt, and the hordes of F1 enthusiasts from all over the world contributed to the adrenalin rush of a weekend!

Here I am before the race!

...and under part of the circuit.... (this underpass gets REALLY loud during the race cuz of the enclosed deafening sound of the engines as the cars zoom overhead)

Saturday night's qualifying sessions:  I plonked myself on this huge slab of concrete right beside Glutton's Bay at the Esplanade.  The concrete block is huge, taller than me... and gave us (from left:  Will, Uncle Anthony and me) a great vantage point of the tracks!  Liverpool fan Will was there again the next night.

A little sustenance before the race...

The Singapore Grand Prix is about to begin and I'm at the Bay Grandstands ready to watch the action.

Once the race started though, I walked around the circuit cuz that was more fun. This was taken during the race from the same vantage point I told you about earlier. The red blur on the road to the right of the photo is Felipe Massa in his Ferrari.  He started in pole but had a disastrous race due to a pit crew error.

Outcome of the first night street race in F1 history:  Coming in first, Renault's Alonso.  Second, Williams' Rosberg.  And third, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.... which all means Lewis stays top of the leaderboard 7 points ahead of Massa! Whooo......!

Took my camera with me everywhere I went last
weekend, and here are the pictures.

Here's the ESPN Star Make-up artist Nancy and
me very early Sunday morning. Football Extra
goesout live at 11am, but we get ready quite
early.(Sorry folks in Singapore, Thailand and
Hong Kong, the program doesn't go out in your
territories due to Premier League rights issues
but you can always get your fix by watching
Football Crazy every thurs 8pm HK time.)

And here's me in the studio rehearsing before we go live...

The show went smoothly.  Was a little bummed out that Arsenal LOST to Fulham 1 nil over the weekend but hopefully I didn't let my true feelings show as I presented the goals and highlights of that match at Craven Cottage.  Haha.

Had to attend a series of Swarovski new Autumn/Winter 2008 launches over the weekend as well.  I love my bling bling!

Thanks for droppin by! Love ya!

This journal entry is especially dedicated to the
handful of people who email me and "complain"
that I don't update this site very often.  Well, firstly,
because I'm so not computer savvy - I don't know
how to upload anything myself - I email
updates to my webmaster who obediently
does the job for me but I don't like bothering
him too much... Some of you suspect that's just
a lame excuse for my laziness, well some of you
are partly right.  I sometimes get all blogged out
even before I think about what I want to say.

I mentioned going up to KL to see Chelsea in my last blog...
I didn't take pictures cuz I forgot my camera...well, I can report that
the Chelsea boys look very fit and up for a title challenge in the upcoming Premier League season.  Caught the match between Chelsea and the Malaysia All-Stars team (who put up a great fight btw) and understand why the press had nothing but praise for Deco after.  He was such a creative playmaker even in the friendly and will definitely be favoured by Scolari for a place in his first team.

Singfest took place over the weekend here in Singapore.  The 2-day music festival featured big names like Panic at the Disco, Travis, Pussycat Dolls, Jason Mraz and Alicia Keys.  I was there for work (you'll see some clips soon on the new season of Football Crazy debuting 14th Aug Star Sports).  And Jason Mraz.  Saw him perform at the Esplanade a couple of years ago and fell in love with his music and talent.  He was just as awesome this time round...got to interview him as well...was quite stoked bout it.  If you don't know him, check him out at www.jasonmraz.com   The guy's a musical genius and has a voice as crystal clear as a bell.  Watch his latest release here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkHTsc9PU2A and I'm sure you'll become a fan too.

Alright I'll stop gushing.

Finally caught the critically-acclaimed French film "Amelie" yesterday and fell in love with love all over again.  The film is quirky, whimsical and romantic....so romantic that at first, you're tempted to dismiss it as unrealistic movie love that can't really happen to you but then the characters, cinematography and script win you over with sheer sincerity and wide-eyed innocence.  The fact that the story is set against the sun-drenched backdrop of Parisian streets and cafes helps the film's romantic cause.

Stay in love...

I love my shiny new bicycle.  I live about 3 minutes
by car from the ocean but driving there doesn't make
much ecological sense.  So from today onwards,
I'm leaving my car at home if it's just a short trip to
the nearby coffeeshop for a bite or a quick dash
to the petrol station for milk.  Don't get me
wrong. I love driving my car and I'm not one to
drive slowly or turn down the air-con just to save
petrol, but cycling keeps me fit and it just so
happens that subbing driving with cycling also
reduces my carbon footprint so hey, it's really a
win-win situation right?  By the way, I got myself a
cute little detachable basket for my bicycle so Fudge
my cute not-so-little Jack Russell terrier can come
along with me on my mini adventures, but he doesn't
really like being squeezed into it.  Oh well, guess the basket has
other uses too...like carrying takeaway food.

In case you think I've spent the last two months bumming around, well, you're almost right.  Apart from sleeping (really well), reading, chilling out, eating, I've also been shopping!  Ladies, check out Beijaflor at Wisma Atria in Singapore or www.beijaflor.com.sg for the sexiest and freshest Brazilian fashion.  Walked into their boutique the other day and found their stuff so irresistible I blew about a grand on dresses and accessories.  A girl needs to give herself a treat once in a while.  ;)

And in case you really think I'm a bum, I HAVE worked, thank you very much....by emceeing a number of shows over the last couple of months.  Hosted this women's marathon in June and had my bag stolen from right under my nose.  It was devastating....for a while because the bag miraculously appeared in a male toilet in another part of town the next day, with ONLY my phone and cash missing.  Big thanks to the event company Sporting Spectrum who compensated me for all my losses.

Am going to KL next week to cover Chelsea's visit to the Malaysian capital city.  Hopefully, we can get the shots we need of the footballers.  I'll try to take some pictures and post them up here.

And I might go to Hong Kong the week after next with the girls for a few days.  Hong Kong's a great place to eat and shop.  Wanna eat the famous beef brisket noodles at that famous beef brisket noodles restaurant...forget where now but I'm sure I'll find it once I'm there.

Hey, if ya see me on the streets, say hi!

The football season is coming to an end and I'm
looking forward to a couple of holidays I've got lined
up over the summer. Work continues here in
Singapore though and I've been very blessed with
lots of it. I love my job and everything that goes
along with it.

I've been pigging out on lots of rum and raisin
ice-cream of late. It's kinda like my flavour of
the month! I'm slightly allergic to alcohol though,
as in I get high very quickly after consuming just
a small amount of it. (Friends joke that I'm a cheap
date.) So believe or not, eating rum and raisin ice-cream
actually gets me slightly high. Ha. THAT'S why I love it so much!

Anyway, back to the holidays I'm looking forward to, my girlfriends and I are planning a trip to beautiful Bali. My pale legs need a tan, and my soul needs peace and quiet. Sure, there's plenty of sunshine here in Singapore as well, but it's not the same is it? ;)

21 March 2008

March has been jam-packed with work! Was in KL
as part of my duties for Heineken Champions Planet
(I've got pictures!), and was recently also in Macau
for work. And in between the two trips, had a few
events to emcee for here in Singapore.

KL was fun! Met a lot of football-crazy folks and
Malaysian celebs: Shout-outs to the very hot
Daphne Iking, Joey G, Jien (who works w meat
ESPN STAR), Marion and a really cool DJ who
occasionally spins atthe famed Ku De Ta in Bali,
Glynn Tandy (who for some reason is a Blackpool fan. Ha.).

Macau was real cool too! Stayed at the spanking new Venetian Hotel.
Emceeing the event was fun but not as fun as meeting people from all
over Asia who regularly tune into our shows on ESPN STAR, and
definitely not as fun as losing 500 bucks at the Casino. The game
not to play at casinos? Caribbean Stud. Because a good hand doesn't
always guarantee a big win.

The month isn't over.

Maroon 5 next week. Can't wait to catch them in the flesh. Heard
that they can't sing live but I'll be the judge of that. Then
emceeing a couple of Singapore Fashion Fest events at Raffles City
over the weekend. And also hosting a massive Johnny Walker event at
the Padang here in Singapore on the 30th, with special guest, F1
legend Mika Hakkinen. So if you're in Singapore, come check it out.

Okay, you've been updated. My conscience feels better. Take care
and be good. ;)

13th Feb 2008

I think the essence of life is nothing more than belief.
I believethat Someone created everything that I am,
feel, taste, smell andsee. This world is too intricate
and beautiful to have been designedby chance.
You are too beautiful and special to have evolved
from some big bang billions of years ago.
Nature rocks. So do rocks. I've got these
turquoise pebbles scattered all over the strip
of"garden" that borders my patio. They look
even prettier at high noonwhen the sunlight
coaxes their bluish glint to its full glory.

They say life can sometimes heap the blues on you. I say the blues
make you appreciate all the more the wide spectrum of rainbow colours
that life is all about too.

They say love is overrated. I say love should be celebrated as the
purest evidence that we humans were put on this earth for a purpose.

Happy Valentine's Day.

25th December 2007

Hi guys, Blessed Christmas and a fabulous
new year to ya! 2007 was exciting.
2008 will be even more so. I promise
I'll post more journal entries
here come the new year.

I am overjoyed that this site is finally up after
months of promising that it'd be up soon. Thanks
to the people who made this possible,
namely Faisal, the dedicated webmaster! ;) And thanks to the people
who have been such a huge support since those "forum" days. By the
way, for nostalgia sake, you can still access the forum here. Had
quite a laugh reading some of my old journal entries the other day. I
can only conclude that we're all constantly growing in stature and
mind and thank goodness for that.

I've been really busy this month. And have been down with a perpetual
cold that robbed my voice, my Christmas spirit and smile. But
finally went to the doctor a couple of days ago. (Why didn't I just
go earlier?? Well, I'm stubborn like that.) So anyway, I waved the
white flag weakly, admitted that I'm no superhuman and went to the
doctor for much needed medicine, with my tail hanging down between my
legs, figuratively speaking of course. Sometimes, it takes a bout of
sickness to make you realize that you're only human after all. That
above all else, health is most important. Hence I'm subjecting myself
to rest this Christmas. Well I'd better. New Year's Eve is going to
be another big night.

Enjoy your time with your family and friends, and once again, merry
Christmas! Muacks!
